You must respond immediately if you find a weed issue since they spread quickly. In addition, weed development is harmful to plant health because it robs the lawn and plants of their food supplies, causing them to fade away.

Compare-N-Save ConcentrateFeatures of Compare-N-Save Grass And Weed Killer:

  • Rainproof in 2 hours
  • Contains 41-percent glyphosate
  • Covers over 25,000 sq. ft

Another explanation why weed growth is a lawn threat is because as soon as you add high-quality fertilizer to your plants or grass, the nearby weed roots will suck up all of the soil’s necessary nutrients, leaving grass and plants with zero.

This weakens the plants, leaving them resistant to viruses, bacteria, bacterial infections, and potential drought in your yard or front lawn. That’s when you’ll need to move soon, and the only approach to stop that is to use the Compare-N-Save weed killer.

The weed killer contains all of the required, efficient chemicals to kill most perennial and annual weeds, as well as any other undesirable plants or grass. What you have to do is dilute the solvent with water and spray it on your landscaping, path, and walkway.

After the very first application, it becomes rainproof in only 2 hours. It’s why it’s such a popular tool for maintaining the appearance of your walls, sidewalks, driveways, and flowerbeds.

According to certain consumers, the substance produces different effects depending on the weather and the form of weeds. However, loyal consumers admire its efficacy and believe it to be one of the most cost-effective weed killers on the market.

Active Ingredients

Glyphosate, N-(phosphonomethyl) glycine, in the form of its isopropylamine salt 41%
Other Ingredients 59%
Total: 100%

The Compare-N-Save Lawn and Weed Killer product includes 41% glyphosate, which is primarily used to kill any undesirable weeds while protecting your other plants, rendering it one of the most effective post-emergent products on the U.S. market right now.

Glyphosate that has a concentration of 41%, destroys weeds by inhibiting the development of a material present in plants required for plant growth. Glyphosate is not normally consumed by plants and therefore degrades into organic materials. Uninfected plants would not be harmed by this chemical on the surface.

Glyphosate is quickly ingested by trees and passes down into the plants’ leaves to remove the roots.

Although the active ingredient, glyphosate, can be applied to the foliage of treated plants, it is ingested and spreads through the leaves to kill the roots. This ensures that if the weeds have been introduced to it, they’ll fall and are less likely to reappear.

Specifications:

  • The first visible results appear on the 2nd day after application;
  • The smallest bottle covers about 25.000 sq. ft.;
  • When diluted makes about 85 gallons of RTU (ready-to-use) spray;
  • Becomes rainproof after 2 hours;
  • Good for killing the roots;

Depending on your preferences and the size of your garden, you may pick from a 1-gallon, 32-ounce, or 16-ounce model.

Another positive advantage of this commodity is that it has a long shelf life when held out of direct sunlight. After each use, make sure to properly seal it. If you keep it open by mistake, it will eventually break down. Glyphosate is non-expiring and has a half-life of around 90 days.

What weeds can it kill?

It is capable to eliminate over 200 weeds including:

  • Chickweed;
  • Clover;
  • Thistle;
  • Nettles;
  • Oxalis;
  • Dandelion;
  • Nutgrass;
  • Horsetail;
  • Primrose;
  • Radish;
  • Ground ivy;
  • Pigweed;
  • Poison oak
  • Marigold;

Compare-N-Save is suitable for lawn regeneration, plot sequencing, vine removal, brush control, and stump care.

The Compare-N-Save Concentrate often has the added advantage of being able to kill a freshly cut stump. Nevertheless, if you take too long to apply it, it will shape a scab and the cream will become ineffective.

How to use it?

The method of application for Compare-N-Save Grass and Weed Killer depends on the weed type and soil area:

1) Spot spraying

Ensure that the liquid would not come into contact with the leaves, green shoots, or bare roots of any plants you may not wish to kill. Untreated plants would not be affected by Concentrate Grass & Weed Killer in or on the surface. Enable 21 days before consuming the fruit or nuts if applied to kill weeds around fruit/nut trees or grapevines.

2) Brush control

When the brush is already green and rising, use it. Cut back and spray regrowth where plants are higher than 5 feet. The brush that has been dispersed in the fall can’t be fully regulated until the next season. Blackberry, kudzu, and poison oak are examples of difficult-to-control plants that could need another application.

3) Stump treatment

Stumps should be managed to save them from growing back. Treat while the vegetation is actively expanding and within 5 minutes of being cut down for the best outcomes. Detailed instructions can be found on the package. Many varieties of woody brush and trees, such as alder, giant reed, eucalyptus, bluegum, madrone, maple, saltcedar, sweetgum, and tan oak, can be managed or suppressed with this product.

4) Vine control

If the vine is scaling all over the postbox, fence, or mature tree trunk, cut it down to a height of 3 or 4 feet and spray the remaining vine thoroughly.

Remove vines at the base and sprinkle regrowth whether they are ascending a shrub or a young (green) tree root. With a layer of cardboard or plastic, cover shrubs and green bark from spray drift.

Precautions:

  • Since Glyphosate destroys all green plants, even lawn grass, it can never be used for spot weed control in lawns;
  • Using or store this product’s solutions in galvanized steel or unpadded steel sprayers, and don’t use an irrigation device or a sprinkling can apply them;
  • For each application, rinse the sprayer and rinse all of the sprayer’s components with water three times. Spritz barren surface or gravel with rinse spray. A sprayer may be applied to add other items after a rigorous washing. After each usage, replace the cap firmly;
  • Spot spraying is not advised since the weed killer is intended to kill green plants and lawn grass. In a gallon of water, you may use up to 1.5 oz (3 tbsp.) of the chemical;
  • Using cardboard or plastic to protect attractive plants if possible. If plants are sprayed by mistake, instantly clean them with water;
  • When the weather is cool, spray. Moist the weed uniformly with a spray;

When to use:

Apply on a nice sunny day with an afternoon temperature of at least 60 degrees Fahrenheit with no rain predicted over the next 24 hours for better results.

Use the chemical on bright days when the air is mild but not too hot if you want the best effects. Also, keep an eye on rain forecasts to making sure there isn’t anything in the forecast for the next 24 hours.

Weed control can be accelerated by wet, sunshine conditions. If it rains within 2 hours of application, reapply. The potency of the product would not be harmed by rain or watering two hours after application. If hard-to-control plants (e.g. Bermudagrass) regrow, you may need to reapply the herbicide.

Where to use:

  • Walkways, paths, sidewalks, in gravel and brick driveways;
  • Along fences;
  • Around trees, shrubs and flower beds for spot treatment;
  • Use carefully around vegetable and fruit gardens;

This strongly suggested product may also be used to prep growing areas for shrubs, flowerbeds, rock gardens, and other related gardening. Within one day, you should replant all of the treated areas. It is not advised to spot spray lawns with this herbicide since it can destroy all green plants, even lawn grass.

How long does it take to work?

This weed solution usually comprises 41% glyphosate and shows noticeable results in 2 to 4 days. Customers report seeing visible effects after only one application in less than a week. Furthermore, the treatment is available in an extremely condensed type, allowing you to use it over a much longer period of time than normal drugs.

When weeds are vigorously rising, use this product. The bulk of weeds that have been handled exhibit initial signs in 2 to 4 days and are fully destroyed in 1 to 2 weeks. It can take up to 4 weeks to completely kill larger, more developed weeds.

In ornamental fields, treated areas may be mulched in as little as one day.

The Buyer’s Guide

The product’s type

Glyphosate is a herbicide that is used once the plant has emerged. It ensures you’ll have to begin spraying it on a daily basis. Since the commodity would not deter further weed development or accumulation, this is the case.

Efficacy

The Compare-N-Save product eliminates whatever you don’t like about your garden. This strong, non-toxic, and inexpensive weed killer offers an impeccable rating. It has a strong glyphosate content, which ensures quick cleaning.

Rainproof feature

While the manufacturer advises utilizing Compare-N-Save Concentrate Grass and Weed Killer on days with little risk of rain within 24 hours of use, the formula is formulated to be rainproof in only two hours.

Safety

When applying herbicide to your yard, you can take the appropriate precautions. These are dangerous and may inflict significant damage if ingested. When using herbicides, keep the following recommendations in mind:

  • Use gloves, goggles and a respiratory mask when applying it;
  • Follow the recommendations to get the proper dilution ratio;
  • Discard the leftover – never just dump it in the drainage system;

FAQ

Is it easy to mix with water?

Yes. For general weed control, mix 1.5 oz (3 tbsp.) of concentrate with 1 gallon of water. Mix 2.5 oz (5 tbsp.) in 1 gallon of water for tougher weed control of perennials or brush.

Can you apply a hose-end sprayer for this product?

Yes, you can. But be careful and use only the recommended hose-end sprayers. It is always a safer option to follow the manufacturer’s recommendations.

Does this concentrate get less effective with years?

If the bottle is enclosed and not open to intense light, it has an eternal shelf life. There is no such thing as a glyphosate sunset date. On products and in the MSDS, you can notice the periods of 24 or 36 months.

Is it safe for cats and dogs?

Allow it to dry fully before allowing pets and kids to the treated area, according to the label. You should let it dry within an hour (or better 2 or 3).

Can I spray it on the roots directly?

A sprayer is used to add it to the plants. Since this is a concentrate, it must be combined with liquids. The weed is killed by hitting the base.

  1. We get rain on and off at weird periods throughout the summer, into the fall so having a weed killer that is rain proof for a few hours is gold! You don’t have to worry about it being washed away before it does its thing. This stuff is excellent and I will keep using it. Highly recommended.
